POLICIES
The goal
of Cuddly Critters is to provide you with peace of mind and your pet with
a fun, stress free experience. These
policies are in place to ensure that we do not compromise the safety and
well being of your pets or ourselves.
Pet
sitting services will be provided in your home where your pet is most
comfortable and less likely to become stressed or anxious.
For Mid-day Walking and In Home Pet Sitting, each visit will last
approximately 30 minutes. For
all In Home Pet Sitting, Cuddly Critters cannot share responsibilities
with others, such as family, friends, neighbors, etc. due to liability
risks.
Visits:
For all In Home Pet Sitting, Cuddly Critters requires atleast one
visit per day for cats and other small animals. For dogs, at least two
visits are required each day. This is for the safety and comfort of
your pet.
Fences/Doggy
and Cat Doors:
If you have doggy or cat doors, the doors must be locked or
deactivated while we are caring for your pets.
For the safety of your pet, dogs will be required to be on a leash
at all times while outdoors. The only exception will be if you have a
secure, fenced in yard. If
you prefer Cuddly Critters not to walk your dog then a secure, fenced in
yard must be provided.
Veterinary
Release: Each pet
is required to have a signed veterinary release before Cuddly Critters can
start services.
Vaccinations:
All pets must be up to date on their rabies vaccination.
Proof must be provided.
Health
of Pet:
If your pet needs around the clock medical care, he or she would be
better suited boarding at a vet's office.
Confirmation
Calls:
If Cuddly Critters is watching your pets while you are away we will
call you 3 days prior to departure to confirm the dates of service.
We also ask that you call us to confirm that you have arrived home.
If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you have not arrived back home
and will continue to provide services.
You will incur any corresponding charges.
Animal
Behavior:
Cuddly Critters cannot accept animals who have shown aggression
toward humans or other animals or who are overly protective and will not
allow us safe and easy access to your home.
Unforeseen
Purchases: Cuddly Critters requests that you provide all the necessary
items that contribute to the health and well-being of your pet; i.e.,
food, litter, cleaning supplies etc. If you have not signed up for our
Errand Service and Cuddly Critters has to purchase any necessary items, we
will retain a receipt, and the client will be responsible for
reimbursement of these items. Our
Errand Service trip fee will apply.
Cancellations:
Our calendars fill up quickly.
Once Cuddly Critters has booked a service for you this may mean
that we have had to refuse service to another client.
Therefore, cancellations must be made 72 hours before service has
begun or you will be required to pay 50% of the total owed for the
original scheduled pet sit invoice. This
applies to all visits except regularly scheduled daily visits which must
given cancellation notice 24 hours in advance.
Payment:
Cuddly Critters accepts cash or checks.
All payments must be made prior to the beginning of service.
For In Home Pet Sitting, a 25% deposit must be received within 7 days of
booking your service. Your requested dates will not be added to our
schedule until this deposit has been received. This deposit is non
refundable. The balance is due in full before service begins. For
Mid-Day Dog Walking payment is required at the end of the week for the
following week. If a
check is returned you are required to pay the returned check fee and the
entire invoice for services promptly via cash or money order.
Early
Returns/Last minute Changes:
It is not unusual for trip
plans to change at the last minute. However,
please understand that Cuddly Critters carefully schedules our time to
service you and our other clients. Therefore,
once payment has been received and service has started, there
will be no refunds made for early returns, changes of schedules, etc.
Holidays:
With the exception of severe weather, life threatening emergencies,
or a death in the family, any cancellations prior to a major holiday;
i.e.: New Years Day, New
Years Eve, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving,
Christmas Eve, and Christmas
Day with less than a seven
day notice will result in 100% of the total invoice for scheduled pet
care to be paid. We request
your understanding that Holiday travel is a peak service time for pet
care. Charges for
services on the following holidays will be time and a half the
regular rate: New Years Day, New Years Eve, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth
of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Keys:
Cuddly Critters will obtain your house key during our initial
meeting with you. Due to
security concerns, we CANNOT have the key left in a hidden place on
the premises. If you are not
already doing so, please consider letting Cuddly Critters retain your
house key. In the event of an
unexpected trip, you’ll be glad you did.
If you choose not to have Cuddly Critters retain a key, picking up
and returning your keys requires two extra trips and there will be a $10
charge per trip for time and mileage.
Due to security concerns, Cuddly Critters will NOT leave
keys locked inside your home at the end of the contract period.
